Foundation and History

Experimental Medicine Research and Application Center was founded as The Laboratory of Experimental Animals within The Department of Physiology of Faculty of Medicine at Çukurova University, in 1983.

The center was named as "Çukurova University Experimental Surgical Research and Application Center (ESRAP)" in accordance with the law no. 11/2/4 and decree no. 14.08.1990 that was taken by Senate of Çukurova University.

The set-up and operation directive of center was approved by senate in accordance with the law no. 4-3 and decree no. 17.03.1992. The center went into operation by publishing in official gazette with the title of "Çukurova University Research and Application Centers Regulations" in accordance with the law no. 21195 and decree no. 10.04.1992.

In contemplation of gathering all centers that share the same purpose, the center was given its new name "Çukurova University Medicine Sciences Experimental Research and Application Center (MSERAP) by compounding ESRAP, Internal Medicine Sciences Research Center and Basic Medicine Sciences in 07.06.1995. The name of center which has been carrying on activities within The Faculty of Medicine at Çukurova University since 14.02.2013 was changed to "Çukurova University The Faculty of Medicine Experimental Medicine Research and Application Center (Ç.U. F.O.M.-EMRAP) ".
